As we received a good dose of winter weather this week, we are reminded that this is Michigan. That is not a bad thing though. Michigan can get crazy when it comes to the weather, but if you have lived here for a few years, you get used to it.
Now January 15 is the mid point of meteorological winter, and it sure seems that we are in the middle of winter after this week of weather. The first part of the winter was very mild thanks to an El Niño weather pattern. The shift from mild to snowy is a fine example of why we never know what is coming next from old man winter.
It is hard to guess what will come next weather-wise. But since it is only mid-winter 2016 right now, I don’t think that we are going to be done with the snow. But if you want start thinking about spring, it is coming, however, it may be quite a few weeks off.
