Planting grass is like raising a child. Wait, what?!? It is true. Both take a lot of time, patience, and energy. But both can be done. Here are a few similarities between growing grass from seed, and raising a child.
Grass takes a while to before it sprouts out of the ground. Just like a mother when she is pregnant. Some common species on grass that is planted here in Michigan can take up to a month before they start to sprout.
Grass does not instantly mature. No child is instantly mature after birth. Grass comes in thin and stringy. It will take time for the turf stand to fill in and look like a mature plant.
Grass takes constant watering and regular fertilizer. Babies seem to need feedings every two hours. Newly planted grass requires multiple light waters each day in order for it to stay hydrated.
Grass requires patience. There is no need to explain that one when it comes to kids. This is a summary of all of the parts, it is going to take time for each of the stages and projects when it comes to growing grass.
Just remember, grass is not an instant thing. Work is needed to get that beautiful lawn started; just like raising a child. Don’t give up, you will get there.
