Here we are again, at the end of another growing season. Like any growing season from the past, there were some challenges from the weather and pests, and there were some blessings too.

The beginning of the 2015 growing season was wet. Not too much, but enough to keep everything watered and happy.

By the end of May into early June, that rain turned off, and the lawns started to dry out if they didn’t have the help from the sprinklers. However, we never really got into any hot weather. It wasn’t until mid-July when we finally saw some really hot weather.

Mid to late July became hot and dry. The lawns were really starting to show the effects of no precipitation. This lasted into the beginning of August, then the weather took a turn. By mid-August, it started to feel like fall was in the air. We has some cool temperatures, and even lake effect rain showers. This did help to green the lawns and landscapes back up.

By the end of August, we got back into the hot weather. Just in time for Labor Day. However, we also received some rain that really starting the grass growing, and grow it did.

September and October were fairly pleasant months for weather, but not for the grass. A very widespread infestation of grubs seemed to set into the area. Luckily we were able to get a hold of the problem before it became too big. Most of the damaged turf was able to regrow once the grubs were pushed back. For lawns that did have grub problems, it is best for another application this coming summer to stop the grubs from returning, just a heads up.

By late October, the leaves wanted to hang onto the trees. The trees were slow to turn and then shed their leaves. But they eventually came down. And here we are, some snow is November, and the rest of winter ahead of us.

The 2015 growing season overall was a very good season. We thank all of our customers and hope we can service your property again in 2016.
