Have you ever thought about where you buy a product or service from? More specifically, if it was a local business or not? To some people this might not mean a thing. To others it is very important. When you support a local business, you are supporting your neighbors; and if those local businesses spend their money locally, it can grow the local economy.
When you buy local, the money stays in the area. But you are probably thinking that lawn care companies are all local. Well that is not the case. There are a few fertilizer companies, and some lawn mowing companies that are not local at all. They are part of a national chain. That means some of the profits go to a corporate office somewhere else. Even if only part of the business is a franchise, some of the profits are still leaving the area.
Now as a local business, we like to use other local businesses to try to keep as much money in the area as we can. Our mechanic, our fertilizer supplier, snowplow builder, nursery supplier, etc. are all local. When we buy supplies and parts from them, the money is staying right in the area, helping our neighbors and yours as well.
To hire a true local lawn care company is good for the local economy. If buying local is important to you, check to see if that company is part of a national chain before you hire. Remember, when you hire or buy local, you are helping our neighbors when you buy local.
